Linda Batchelor is a graduate of UT Arlington. She has been trained in dyslexia therapy through the St. Augustine Program and Neuhaus Education Center. She completed the Neuhaus Education Center two year course in Basic Language Skills and The Foundation of Language.
She is also trained in reading comprehension. Her services include remediation in academic skills, visual-perceptual therapy, and binocular vision training. She has been a reading volunteer for our schools, a writing teacher for a local private school and a private vision therapist since 2005.
She is a mother of three sons and grandmother to two grandchildren. Linda and her husband David have resided in this area since 1995, and she has been volunteering with children and students in this area for over 20 years.
Brittney Fernandez has been with Baxter Eye Care since November 2016. As a Doctor's Assistant, you will find Brittney taking excellent care of our patients while leading them through all necessary testing prior to being seen by one of our doctors. Brittney came from the dental field and has really enjoyed tackling the new challenges and experiences that optometry brings. She enjoys spending her free time watching Finding Nemo, eating new types of food, and using SnapChat. She also enjoys riding horses and breaking out into dance whenever the mood strikes her.
Heather Trexler (firstname.lastname@example.org) is a graduate of Sam Houston State University, where she studied Public Relations and Communication Studies. After working in the dental and medical fields for five years, she joined the Baxter Eye Care team in October 2014. She is our insurance expert and Administrative Coordinator. She is also a trained Optometric Assistant, front desk team member, and optician. Heather

She is originally from North Carolina but has lived in Texas since 1988. She spends her free time staying active with her son and caring for her two precious dogs.
Kelly Renfro has been excelling in patient care in the field of optometry for over 20 years. Originally from Fort Worth, Kelly moved to Houston in 2017 and has been with Baxter Eye Care ever since!
Kelly is our lead Doctor's Assistant, though you may also find her assisting at the front desk or optical department.
Kelly spends the majority of her spare time with her family, attending her youngest son's many sports activities and games. She loves sports through-and-through (Go Steelers!)! Kelly also has three small dogs who keep life interesting every day!
Amanda Arriaga joined our team in August 2018, brand new to the field of optometry. Prior to working at Baxter Eye Care, Amanda ran her own local meal prep business, and worked in the childcare field for several years. She is currently working on her degree in Business Administration.
Her favorite part of working in optometry is interacting with a diverse group of patients and spreading her cheerful, positive attitude to each person she meets! She enjoys going for long nature walks with her family, which includes her husband Daniel, their three gorgeous children, and a recently added fur baby named Kali. Amanda is often described as “the real-life version of Snow White.” She love singing with animals and can be found smiling at all times!
Kimberly Medina has been a Doctor's Assistant for the last year and joined Baxter Eye Care in December 2019. Kim moved from Frederick, Maryland to Houston in 2009. She graduated from Victory Early College High School with an Associates of Arts in 2017. She is currently pursuing a career in nursing with the goal to become a pediatric nurse practitioner. Kim is very passionate about helping others and she enjoys doing community service. She goes on mission trips throughout the year and loves serving different communities. She enjoys spending her spare time learning other languages, watching historical documentaries and quality time with family and friends.
