Baxter Eye Care provides a wide range of
services to maintain your family's visual health. During the
comprehensive eye exams, the doctor will assess a patient’s
refractive error (the need for eyeglasses), binocular function
(how the eyes work together), oculomotor reflexes (ocular muscle
balance and pupil reactions,), accommodative function (ability
to focus at near), and visual field and ocular health (cataracts,
retinal health).
We provide medical care for eye infections and inflammations such as keratitis (corneal inflammation), conjunctivitis (pink eye), uveitis (internal eye inflammation), as well as dry eye syndrome and eyelid conditions.
Baxter Eye Care also handles contact lens complications and irritations.
If surgery is indicated for any condition, the patient will
be referred to the appropriate surgeon.
Glaucoma and macular degeneration are common eye diseases that can be treated and managed at Baxter Eye Care. Each patient is screened appropriately for the existence of these conditions. Evidence has shown that those patients with diabetes and hypertension are at a higher risk for developing glaucoma. Proper screening with both regular eye exams and advanced technology systems will ensure the most comprehensive eye care for the patient. Eye Examination Services - Optomap(TM): laser

Perceptual Skills Evaluation
Perceptual skills are the groundwork upon which children build their reading and mathematical knowledge after they enter school. These concepts give children the necessary strategies needed to gain and organize knowledge. Here in our office we are concerned about the visual perceptual skills and auditory perceptual skills of our young patients. These areas may be tested if you, the parent or guardian, chooses. We feel that children between the ages of four and nine should be screened for these perceptual skills, especially if the child is having problems in school. It is a good procedure to check on school readiness prior to first grade. Contact us today for more information and scheduling.
