Optometric Glaucoma Specialist

Dr. Baxter offers family eye care services while specializing in children's vision and testing of perceptual skills. She received her B. S. degree and a Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Houston in 1980.

She is board certified in the treatment and management of ocular disease and is a consultant to the Conroe and Spring Independent School Districts.

As a graduate student at the University of Houston, Dr. Baxter worked in the University's Interdisciplinary Clinic in the area of optometry, education, sociology, and psychology for children with learning disabilities.

Jason Whitten

Certified Optician

Jason Whitten joined the staff at Baxter Eye Care in October of 2000. He has over twenty years experience in the optical industry. The American Board of Opticianry and the National Academy of Opticanry certified him in May 1994.

After graduating from Northwest Academy in 1987, he attended San Jacinto North and Baylor University, before joining the optical industry in 1990.

Jason is married, he and his wife have four children and they currently reside in Conroe. He enjoys spending as much free time outdoors with his family as possible. They enjoy camping, hunting, fishing and shooting sports. He is a sports fan and enjoys following his children’s athletics as well as his favorite sports teams, the Cowboys, Astros and LSU.

He is glad to be a part of the Baxter Eye Care staff, where he can provide state of the art products, technology and care to our patients.

kathryn baird
Kathryn Baird, B.S, E.D.

Dyslexia Specialist and Visual Therapist

Mrs. Baird has worked with Dr. Baxter since 1981, and has been affiliated with Baxter Eye Care since it's inception in 1998.

She is a graduate of Sam Houston State University (B.S. Ed.). Mrs. Baird has also been trained as a dyslexia specialist and vision therapist.

Her services include remediation of dyslexia, visual and auditory perception, academic skills, fine and gross motor training and orthoptics.

A mother of twins and grandmother of six, Mrs. Baird has resided in The Woodlands area since 1976. She is a devoted child advocate, which explains her chosen life's work.
